Voluntary Community Services
The idea of Voluntary Community Service in a large and poor country like India is as old as our civilization. Indian entrepreneurs – especially some of the older family run businesses - have been generous philanthropists for generations. The Indian philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam - वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम् – meaning that the world is one family – is considered the loftiest Vedic thought.
My dedicated focus to this vital aspect of one’s purpose in life was fortified by my revered Guru – Sri Sathya Sai Baba – sufficiently early in my life. I met certain individuals, as if by divine interventions, who had narrowed their focus to “an area” for deep intervention and they successfully created incredible social impact. So, my focus is, narrow and deep (and not flat and thin) in whatever I have chosen to do or support and that is in the area of removing avoidable hardships to the poor and the deprived. The experience and realization, that the moment one sincerely commits oneself to a genuine purpose, then the providence moves too, is indeed divine.
I am directly involved with the following organizations that are dedicated to furthering a particular social cause or advocating for a shared point of view in areas that remove avoidable hardships to the indigent and deprived fellow citizens.
A foundation driven towards providing hot and nutritious noon meals to poor school going children for the past 14 years
