Sai Anna Laxmi Foundation

I consider it a huge blessing in my life that I have a Guru to turn to. A Guru to look up to. A Guru to him I will listen with rapt attention and implicitly obey his orders. Like I had done when I was very young listening to my illustrious father and my loving teachers in school. My reverend Guru – Sri Sathya Sai Baba – with HIS spiritual guidance and command – planted the seed in me to feed hungry humans.

So, my mission started in early 2000 and this mission led me to some wonderful people; people distinctly different from those in my professional circles.

This opened my eyes and eventually helped me to take an early exit from my job as a partner of a large professional services firm. Those days my fellow partner in Ernst & Young, Sri Ganesh Raj joined me in this task. We began this humble project by delivering hot lunch to hungry children in the slums of Noida.

The food was prepared by Sri. Saji, a dedicated cook who took personal interest and would accompany us every Saturday. This became a disciplined routine for us. Whenever I was in Puttaparthi, Baba would keep an eye on this and encourage me to scale. We persuaded these children from the slums to move to schools and that was the humble beginning of our regular daily mid-day meal program at schools. People aligned to this mission came calling on us and extended unsolicited help to scale this program. It was formalised into a registered and recognised Trust called Sai Anna Laxmi Foundation (SALF) in 2013. Today SALF provides on an average 1700 hot meals every day to deserving school going children in Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Bombay, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi NCR, Palwal (Haryana), and Waynad. SALF has enabled to serve 18,59,712 hot meals in the last about six years. Get a glimpse of this humble venture through our Newsletters our head to www.salfindia.in
