Pinnacle is a catalyst for social entrepreneurs to enrich Rural India

Pinnacle Opportunities was founded by me in June 2006 to build a network of high-end consulting talents to build capacity and accreditation to performing social entrepreneurs who are striving to create an impact in whatever they have chosen to do. The services provided by the teams that are gathered, built, or assembled with the requisite will and skill for the job on hand are absolutely pro-bono.
Therefore, the so-called revenue model of Pinnacle Opportunities is – there is no revenue model simply because we don’t earn any income whatsoever. In the last more than a decade we believe we have been able to inject professionalism, accountability, and performance in the ventures we have chosen to work with fortified by our ability to help them raise funds in unique ways. Some of these high performing not-for profits are

  • Sankara Nethralaya one of the world’s best ophthalmological hospitals at Chennai fighting the problem of avoidable blindness amongst the poor.

  • Sai Anna Laxmi Foundation, providing hot and nutritious noon meals to poor school going children for the past 14 years

  • Bharti Foundation, working since 2000 to improve the accessibility and quality of education for the poor across rural India, with a special focus on the girl child.

Pinnacle is conscious that there are capable and committed individuals who are contributing their mite to break the vicious cycle of neglect of the rural poor (that of wasted childhood, ill health, and hungry stomachs and a bleak future that breeds vices and eventually self-destruction).
These social entrepreneurs are striving to bridge the ever-growing gap between the bottom of the pyramid and its upper layers in a country whose economic engine is now capable of delivering the power to change.
Pinnacle is constantly on the quest for identifying such social entrepreneurs and rally round them to radically improve their potential to have a larger footprint.

  • Pinnacle is working at both ends of the spectrum of social change by promoting meaningful collaboration amongst social entrepreneurs, individuals and business entities.

  • Pinnacle supports select social entrepreneurs to significantly improve their capacity and impact through proven methodologies and innovative approaches & equip them with the ability to measure performances.

  • Pinnacle supports them to gain accreditation and improve their governance standards so that they can deliver more.

  • Pinnacle counsels & assists corporate entities (so as not re-invent the wheel) to calibrate their corporate social responsibility programs (CSR) so as to sustain and enhance the impact of performing social entrepreneurs.

Pinnacle focuses on four key components of the socio-economic development framework for rural India so as to improve the Human Development Index1 for India. These components lend support to each other forming a virtuous circle enabling a long-term sustainable growth.

1The HDI provides a composite measure of three dimensions of human development: living a long and healthy life (measured by life expectancy), being educated (measured by adult literacy and enrolment at the primary, secondary and tertiary level) and having a decent standard of living (measured by purchasing power parity (PPP) income)
