Sudhakar Ram
Yesterday – 8th November 2020 – I got the shocking and sad news that my dear friend Sudhakar Ram passed away at the age of 60 in Mumbai. Given the current pandemic I could not travel to Mumbai and see his mortal remains and pay respects to a great soul. Sudhakar was a great and humble soul. He was also a man of few words. I respect him for his deep insights and clarity in thinking. He was quiet and not noisy but forceful in his deeds. It was always a pleasure to be with him and listen to him.
Co-Founder & MD - Mastek
8 Sep 1960 - 8 Nov 2020
A product of Loyola College, Chennai and IIM-C, Sudhakar co-founded the multimillion-dollar multinational software company Mastek listed in the Bombay Stock Exchange. I was co-founder with him on a pioneering venture with growing and deep roots in rural India. We have spent challenging times together nurturing this venture.
He was a generous philanthropist and provided sustaining support to my mid-day meal programs for school children. He encouraged me to scale this program with his wise counsel and backed up with meaningful financial support.
In his well-written Book – Connected Age - Sudhakar calls for dramatic changes in the way we run our lives, our companies and our planet itself so we can leave behind a better world for future generations.
Alas, God took him away too soon. But he certainly left behind a world tempered by his kind deeds and nurturing thousand of young minds to see the big picture. May his great soul rest in peace.
